PROGRAMME SELECTION PROCESS

There are two stages of the Input selection process: National Pre-Selection and Final International Selection.

NATIONAL PRE-SELECTION PROCESS

To submit a programme to Input, please read the criteria carefully and then complete the submission form on this website. A copy of the form will automatically go to your National Coordinator. A full list of all NC’s are on the Input website at www.input-tv.org.  However, if your country does not have a national coordinator, please contact:

Each National Coordinator convenes a local selection process. About 2,000 programmes are considered each year during this pre-selection process.

INTERNATIONAL SELECTION

Each country participating in Input has a quota and only about 350 programmes are sent by the NC’s to the final international selection that happens at Deutsche Welle in Berlin every February. For ten days, 18 practicing professionals from all over the world (known as Input's Shop Stewards) screen and evaluate the entries.

Finally, about 80 to 100 programmes are selected for the conference. The results of the international selection process are announced to producers at the beginning of March 2008 and will be posted on this website.

Production date: Programmes must have been produced after January 2006.

Genres: All genres will be considered.

Deadlines: National Coordinators set their own deadlines for national pre-selection. For example in South Africa the deadline for entries is Friday November 30th because the pre-selection process happens in the first week of December. All national selections have to be in Berlin by 31st January 2008. Contact your NC to confirm the deadline for your country.

For all countries without national coordinators, the deadline is 31st December 2007.

Programme submissions will not be accepted after the applicable deadlines.

Entry fee: There is no charge for programme submissions.
