You are invited to attend INPUT 2008 taking place at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg. Registration is NOW FREE for all  INPUT 2008 sessions  as from Wednesday 7th May to Saturday 10th May. Your practical guide to everything you need to know about Johannesburg and Input, including location, weather and the main events. Johannesburg, where Input 2008 is being held, is a  melting pot of cultures, some ancient and some modern, located in the province of Gauteng, (meaning place of gold) will showcase African hospitality at its best. There is not a single word for stranger in our indigenous languages, therefore, please feel welcome.

Input 2008 is already making waves and living up to the expectations of being the grandest African TV Extravaganza ever…. The Made In Africa workshop is causing a stir among young filmmakers, the new media platforms are a hit and delegate numbers are almost at the halfway mark.
10.04.2008   Input 2008 Blog is a Hit!
For the first time in the history of Input, the conference has launched a weblog  – and based increasing number of viewers to the site – it’s a hit!  Since the launch of the official Input2008 blog on 17 March the daily visits to the Input 2008 blog are increasing in leaps with Wednesday 9 April achieving the highest number of visits on a single day – more than double to the previous day.
07.04.2008   International Opportunity for Africa's Documentary Filmmakers
Made in Africa is a unique training project on the 3rd and 4th May at Input 2008, aimed at giving international broadcast production opportunities to new and emerging documentary filmmakers across the continent of Africa. The initiative will be launched at INPUT 2008 in Johannesburg, South Africa with a workshop. This workshop is aimed at emerging filmmakers from all over Africa who wish to acquire or develop their skills with regard to international production of documentaries, storytelling, and how to develop and pitch ideas internationally. However, the invitation is extended to all directors and producers of documentary films who feel they may benefit from this workshop.
01.04.2008   Free Tour, UK Summer Course for young Filmmakers & Harry Belafonte on his way
The Input Team has just scored a coup... Legendary artist and Human Rights activist Harry Belafonte confirmed this week that he will be the keynote speaker at the launch of the Human Bondage (Slavery) Project at Input 2008. The singer, film star and  UN Goodwill Ambassador will join other dignitaries on the platform for this Special Session that include, South Africa's High Commissioner in London, Lindiwe Mabuza and James Counts Early of Washington's Smithsonian Institution. Ms Mabuza is the Patron of the Human Bondage Project
28.03.2008   The World Cup of Public TV celebrates 30 years in Joburg
It is the first time that so many African broadcasters have combined to stage a single event. Never before has Joburg hosted such an extravaganza. It is the dawn of the African TV industry placing itself at the centre of the world stage. The keynote speaker at the opening is African statesman Joaquim Chissano of Mozambique, former President and recipient of the first Mo Ibrahim Prize for the Achievement of African Leadership.

Come and experience history being made at the 30th INternational PUblic Television conference that is INPUT 2008. If you have already registered, then we welcome you! The scene has been set to celebrate three decades of television’s most influential screening and debating conference, from the 4th to 10th of May in the buzzing Afropolitan city of Johannesburg. This year’s Input is unlike anything that has gone before.
02.11.2007   Mini-Input: The World Cup of Television Kicks off in Joburg
Joburg has been awarded the bid to host the International Public Television (INPUT) organisation’s annual showcase – considered to be the World Cup of the TV industry – and the preliminary events kick off next week. A series of mini Input’s are being staged around Africa in the lead-up to the international screening conference in May next year, the biggest global TV Extravaganza on our Continent ever. And, from November 2nd to 4th 2007 the Host Broadcaster, the South African Broadcast Corporation (SABC), and the Goethe Institute will bring the crème de la crème of the current travelling Input collection to Johannesburg.

South Africa ready for programme submissions from filmmakers and broadcasters and the closing date has changed to November 16th 2007.
14.09.2007   5th North West Film Festival will host a Mini-Input

Watch out for the Mini-Input at the 5th North West Film Festival from September the 14th to the 23rd 2007. Input will screen interesting films.

The Mini-Input at Encounters took place in Johannesburg on July the 18th and in Cape Town on July the 27th 2007.

23.06.2007   Durban International Film Festival

On June 23rd the Input team briefed the youth at the Durban Film Office's Youth in Film Concert on how they can be involved in next year's international showcase.

12.05.2007   South Africa scored five programmes at Input 2007

South Africa and the SABC were featured at Input 2007's prestigious showcase of the best of global public television, held in Lugano, Switzerland . The talk show Choice II was the only programme chosen for a main conference screening.
